Originating in Britain, the Golden Retriever was bred from the Yellow Retriever, Irish Setter, and Water Spaniel in the late 1800s. It belongs to the group of retrievers. These are the hunting dogs that track down small and feathered games that have been shot and bring them to the hunter. Hence its great passion for swimming.
