Chihuahuas are a descendant of the Techichi dog. The Techichi dog didn’t bark at all and was considered mute. Other breeds of dogs that are thought to make up a Chihuahuas descendants are the Perro Chihuahueno, Maltese Pocket Dog, the Papillon, and the Chinese Crested.
